Objective
We are seeking an intern to join Itaú Chile NY Branch’s Corporate Banking team. The selected candidate will work at the main office located in Midtown NYC for a period of 1 year. This internship opportunity will provide exposure to cross-border corporate banking transactions, credit products, and interaction with senior professionals and clients across New York, Chile, Peru, and Colombia.
The internship offers hands-on experience in international banking operations, transaction execution, product management, and coordination with multiple internal stakeholders including Treasury, Legal, Risk Management, Middle Office, Operations, and Finance teams.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
The candidate will participate in a variety of projects, tasks, and structured learning opportunities designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to pursue a career in Banking. Responsibilities will vary based on business needs but will generally include the following:
- Support the Corporate Banking team in the execution and follow-up of credit transactions booked at the New York Branch
- Assist in the preparation of profitability analyses, internal reports, and product-related presentations
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Treasury, Legal, Middle Office, Operations, and Finance on ongoing transactions and projects
- Help maintain and organize transaction documentation, process materials, and internal databases
- Support the preparation of training materials and presentations for regional commercial teams
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives within the department
- Assist with market, portfolio, and product-related analysis as needed
- Provide general support to the Corporate Banking team on day-to-day activities and special projects.
Qualifications
- Students currently seeking a bachelor’s degree or graduate students with knowledge and/or experience in Banking, Business, or related
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Power Point) and other relevant tools
- Strong academic record preferred
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and interact with teams across different countries and business areas
Preferences
- Graduate or Post Graduate degrees in Finance, Business or Economics are strongly preferred
- Previous internship/work experience in Banking or Financial Services is a plus
- Interest in Corporate Banking, Structured Finance, Credit Products, or Capital Markets
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, are required
